Leave it to CollectVelo for amazing classic and antique bicycles like this 1925 Dürkopp. I don’t know much about it, other than it being German…and RAD. Anyone got anymore info on this beast?

This bike – soon to be for sale at Eroica Cicli, was once owned by the Italian Cycling Federation. It needed some new paint, so they fully restored it with red Saronni, white panels and a fully chrome fork & rear triangle and built it up with a complete Campagnolo Record Pista group. See a few more below, and be sure to keep an eye out for the sale.
About a week and a half ago, I finished building up my Soma Saga touring bike and since then have been toolin’ around on it with an ear-to-ear smile. I’ve yet to secure a set of racks and fenders, but should have those sorted out by the end of the month. So far I’m very happy with the fit, ride and build…For those curious on the specs, check out the quick Instagram snap I took of the Saga last weekend, and visit Soma‘s site for the full breakdown on geometry. I cleaned it up the other day and decided to shoot some photos of it bare, before its first camping mission.

Thing Ahearne 26″ Touring Bike is really getting me excited to get some proper racks & fenders for my own touring rig. This Ahearne is gorgeous; and features a fillet brazed frame and superb components (and is currently for sale). The custom low rider racks are just as impressive and built to fit the front-roller Ortlieb panniers.

This is INCREDIBLE. John Buultjens collection is impeccable and nearly everything is in mint condition. Saw this via Tracko.

What a gorgeous restoration here. The owner of this bike received it as a stripped frameset and did an amazing job of painting and building what would resemble a high-end road rig of the 60′s. This 1966 Cilo Road Bike is stellar, you gotta see for yourself below.

You may know our buddy Blotto as one of the legendary Burton Snowboards photographers, but what you may not know is his deep love for bicycles. He’s on the road 250 days a year, though when he’s in town he’s likely to be cruising around on one of his beautiful track bikes. The shot above comes from the Muir Woods out in the Bay Area. Make sure to check out his collection of bicycle photos too, and learn more about Blotto at Seven Days.

I finished building my Soma Saga touring bike a few days ago and took it out for a couple hours yesterday morning. So far I’m loving the ride; it’s comfortable as a Cadillac, and I’m pretty happy running a 3×8 drivetrain. The pictured setup:
Next step: racks and fenders (also painting those bottle cages & adding another). Sorry for the Instagram snap, I’ll post some nice detail shots in the next day or so.

This may not be bicycle-related, but I’ve really been enjoying the A-Z of DSC series by Keith Watts, and the most recent G is for Grand Prix is probably one of my favorites yet, after C is for Camo. Head over to Death Spray Custom to see the earlier drawings.
