Tommasini Sintesi by Mobius Cycle

You can always count on Niki at Mobius Cycle for building/resorting some of the finest vintage steel bicycles. Her attention to detail in not only restoring but also photographing these bicycles is borderline excessive; and that’s a good thing.  There’s nothing like giving new life to a bicycle and this Tommasini Sintesi is the perfect example of doing just that: a classic steel frame constructed of Columbus Neuron tubing and dressed in some 11 speed Campy Athena.

I just found out last week that I’ll be heading to Seattle in early June for a week, so hopefully I’ll be able to stop by the Mobius Cycle Studio. Get into the details of this beauty below and have a happy Tuesday.

Mobius Cycle: Colnago Master Piu

8613986639_1251f4dff1_b

There’s nothing like looking at hot bikes on a Friday, especially after a hellish work week. This Colnago Master Piu by Mobius Cycle is just what I needed to see today. I originally had a lot more planned for the site this week but my actual job burned up the majority of my brain fuel. The good news is, I’m finally taking a vacation after 18+ months without one; and have yet to make any specific plans the week off. Stay-cations are so 2013.

Anyway, enjoy a few more shots of this beauty below and have a wonderful Friday and and an even better weekend. Be sure to get out on the bike!

Masi Gran Criterium: Franco Cortinovis

Masi GranCriterium3

This beautifully restored Masi Gran Criterium was originally built in the late 70′s for Franco Cortinovis – pro rider and Italian Junior champion of ’68. It’s equipped with a full Campagnolo record group and features his name pantographed on the stem. Love it? Gotta have it? Too bad – it’s been sold. However, if you’re in the market for a classic that’s been restored to perfection, make sure to head over and browse Eroica Cicli.

Mobius Cycle: Rossin Classique Road Bike

8508699397_2a4e86a928_b

I always love seeing the bikes that come out of Mobius Cycle. This Rossin Classique has had quite a lifetime already from what I can tell, and the folks at Mobius have given it a new life and a new home. Campy, drillium and the aero details really make this bike for me. Jackson – you’re one lucky fellow, now ride this piss outta this!

See the bike in all its glory below.

Baum Cycles Cubano | Above Category Cycling

baum cycles cubano (14)

baum cycles cubano (13)

Everything I see that comes out of Above Category is on a level of its own. These guys have incredible attention to detail and seem to be able to make a customer’s dream come true, and then some. This custom Baum Cycles Cubano road bike is a perfect example. The customer wanted a bike that can stand up to the rough paved and dirt roads of Maine, this custom ti road bike with a 32 spoke & 25c tire setup sounds like the ideal setup. Head over to Above Category to see the full build list and learn a bit more about the bike. I had no idea the paint is called “celery stalk green” and not celeste.

Get a closer look below.

1990 Roy Cottingham Record Lo-Pro

1990 roy cottingham columbus record lo pro (1)

I’ll admit it, I full geeked out when I first saw this 1990 Roy Cottingham Record Lo-pro. I don’t think I’d ever want to ride such a bike, but Columbus Record tubing, the Corima carbon 4-spoke, Mavic SSC rear derailleur, and drilled frame/lugs surely make for a killer lo-pro. I mean, look at that fork crown! The paint is rad too, reminds me of a bruised banana.

See some more shots from Rookilo below, and read up on the full build on RetroBike.

1966 Cilo Road Bike

1966 cilo touring bike (5)

What a gorgeous restoration here. The owner of this bike received it as a stripped frameset and did an amazing job of painting and building what would resemble a high-end road rig of the 60′s. This 1966 Cilo Road Bike is stellar, you gotta see for yourself below.
