Culture Cycles: Top Bikes of 2011

amaro bicycles

It’s been quite the year for beautiful bicycles featured here on Culture Cycles. I know most other blogs already posted their “Top Tens” for the year, but I took my time this year sifting through all the gorgeous builds I’ve come across in just the 2nd year for CC. That reminds me, as of yesterday Culture Cycles is 2 years old! Thanks to everyone for reading, commenting, and sharing. Here’s to another 2 easy years. Now these bikes below were either popular or some of my favorites – it was so hard to narrow down to just 10ish, so you should take some time to browse all the beauties too.

Enjoy the top 10-ish bikes of 2011 featured below.

Two Wheeled Adventurers

Meet Simon Whitehead (his blog here) he is on month 4 of a 6 month tour from Quito, Ecuador to Ushuaia, Argentina. The boys met up with him en route and traveled alongside him for a stretch. Glad to see he got a sticker, make sure to check out the rest of the post here.

Retrotec Classic

Inglis & Retrotec bicycles. A custom version of this classic is going to be at NAHBS, check that one out, here. The fork crown on the custom is beautiful.

Beauties: Traffic Cycles

My jaw dropped when I saw that first photo of this bike, my jaw dislocated when I kept reading. This beautiful build is the culmination of 2 years of work, and features Reynolds 953 stainless steel, a Rohloff hub, CarbonDrive belt drive, Phil Wood belt chainring & cog, Honjo fenders, Custom stainless steel racks w/ custom made fittings.

I think I’ve found one of my new favorite builds. Please head over to the Traffic Cycles flickr and frimp that shit.

This is one gorgeous build, see more for yourself on the Traffic Cycles flickr.
