  • CHROME PRO SERIES for Professional Messengers

NEW Chrome Pro Series Gear: Built for and Tested by Professional Bike Messengers. from Chrome Industries on Vimeo.

The folks at Chrome are always pushing the envelope and stepping their offerings up. Sure, you can always find a way to strap odd or over-sized items to your bag, but the extended cargo net on the new Pro Barrage backpack is pretty genius. I’m already a huge fan of my Barrage backpack and its cargo net; hell, I use it almost daily. Whether it’s for strapping a skateboard, stinky pair of shoes, 6 pack or whatever really…it’s nice knowing I can always carry a bit more.

The Pro Barrage is legit though. A durable roll-top backpack with a split shoulder strap, EVA foam backing and a removable PE stabilizer tray to keep those food deliveries from being squished. It’s also made in the USA. For more info, be sure to head over to Chrome Industries and learn all about the new PRO SERIES line including the Pro Chest Harness, Pro Utility Belt and Pro Accessory Pouch. Have a look at all these new products in detail below!

  • Chrome Artists Series: NOA

Really feelin’ the Artist Series by Chrome.

The newest edition to our Chrome Artist Series features the original artwork of Japanese artist NOA-. NOA- is as humble as he is talented. Typically using oil and acrylic paint on canvas or wood, he’s known for painting live with a style that emulates Japanese line-making. Each piece of art is influenced by the music he chooses to play as he paints, with most of his inspiration is deeply rooted in hip-hop and graffiti. NOA- created this artwork based on the Japanese phrase, “黒霧” that translates phonetically to Kuromu (sounds like Chrome!) and means Black Fog. These one-of-a-kind Yalta bags come from a 4′ x 12′ canvas and acrylic painting NOA- made. Each of the 8 bags represents a specific segment of the painting where the Black Fog takes on a unique energy of its own. Our Artist Series is produced as a limited run. Once they are gone, they’re gone.

Check out the video above as well as some images from the Chrome Launch in Japan.

  • Chrome Industries Introduces Knurled Welded Waterproof Rolltops

I’ve wanted Chrome to make some bags like this for quite a while! It’s awesome seeing them tap into the touring and urban commuting market with their latest line of Chrome Knurled Welded Waterproof Rolltops. Their latest release includes the Excursion Rolltop 37, Urban EX Rolltop 18, the Saddle Bag Rolltop 20 and the Front Rack Duffle 40; all brilliant options. Though, I think I’m most excited about the Front Rack Duffel and the Saddle Bag Rolltop – pictured above.

Chrome created Knurled Welded™ Waterproof Rolltops for bike camping, adventure biking, and all weather commuting – when weight matters and getting wet is not an option. Knurled Welded™ Rolltops are made with our proprietary welding technology that combines RF welding with a mechanical interlock to create the toughest, lightest 100% waterproof bags. Each bag has a watertight rolltop closure for submersible water protection, a Hypalon® Molle loop system for expandability, and five-bar webbing haul straps for hand carrying. Go Farther. Stay Dryer. Guaranteed for Life.

The Knurled Welded line consists of Saddle Bag and Front Rack Duffle Rolltop.
Knurled Welded Rolldtop Duffle and Saddle Bag Rolltop work on the bike and off. Both bags leave the hardware on the bike where it should be.  The Result is a saddle bag and front rack duffle you can carry around.

800lbs pull strength, 600 Denier, Waterproof Construction

150% more contact surface welds than other waterproof technology

70% lighter then traditional waterproof bags

Be sure to check out these bags in detail below. If you’re as hyped as I am, head over to the Chrome Industries site and see where you can get your own Chrome Knurled Welded bags.

  • Chrome Reflective Camo – Barrage, Victor & Citizen

Oh man, the latest release from Chrome Industries is looking good! Here we have the Chrome Reflective Camo series featuring the Barrage, Victor and Citizen bags. I’m already a huge fan of my Barrage Rolltop and am hyped on how the latest rendition is looking. Here are the details:
Chrome’s second issue of Reflective Camo is an updated version of how Chrome does camo. For this edition, Chrome found a Swedish M90 geometric camo, and overlaid a rain camo print with a special glass bead finish, which reflects light from up to 100 feet. During the day, these bags appear as Swedish geometric “M90” camo and at night the appearance in light is a reflective rain camo. Developed in limited quantities, the Barrage, Citizen and Victor are available in our versatile Chrome Reflective Camo 2nd Issue.

  • Chrome Industries: Massan Barrage Cargo Video

Remember how hyped I was about the Massan video that dropped last Friday on the Chrome Industries site? Well, now you can watch it over and over and over again; right here. Sure, it was put together to promote the Barrage Cargo backpack that I recently reviewed (which, of course, I’ve still been using day-to-day and love), but the cinematography here is absolutely incredible. It also goes without saying: the riding is nuts! Massan is a king on the track bike and bombs Burnside 40+ mph with ease. Enjoy.

  • Massan For Chrome Video Release Event!

Oh man, this is gonna be good! If you’ve ever seen Massan ride, you know that this video is going to be full of shredding. If you’re in Portland and are free tomorrow, be sure to check out this video premiering at the Chrome hub at noon west coast time!

Chrome Industries announces the live screening of its first short film this Friday, December 13th at noon west coast time. Chrome will temporarily take over its website for the screening from 12:00 to 12:30 pm. The Chrome Crew worked with Portland natives Kamp Grizzly to document Massan Fluker taking his track bike and Chrome’s new Barrage Rolltop to the hills and bridges of Portland. The final 3 minute short includes some of the best riding Portland has to offer including an epic decent of Burnside at +40 mph. Set your phone alarms for noon this Friday to catch the live screening. Spread the word.

  • Chrome Barrage Cargo Rolltop Backpack

    chrome barrage rolltop backpack

The Chrome Barrage Cargo backpack is real gem. I’ve been running this back daily for the last three months and it’s really impressed me. Sure, Chrome has a huge variety of bags for all purposes, but the Barrage is one of the best all-arounders I’ve tried out. This bag isn’t for messin’, no. Instead it excels as a day pack, perfect for toting your daily sundries while leaving you plenty of room for whatever you may pick up along the way.

On the exterior of this US-made backpack, you’ve got a webbed cargo net that is perfect for holding all sorts of items, including a helmet, a stinky pair of shoes, beer you don’t have room for in your bag, and even a skateboard. Well, especially a skateboard. Like I said, it’d the perfect day bag. Day-to-day I’d find myself carrying my 15″ Macbook pro, a pair of skate shoes, water bottle, tool roll, lock, deodorant, windbreaker and a few other items. Even with all this junk I carry, I’ve still got room for a sixer on the way home. Check out a few narrated detail shots below and if you’re interested in the Barrage Cargo Bag be sure to head over to your local bike shop, Chrome Hub, or Chrome Industries.
