Mobius Cycle: Colnago Master Piu

8613986639_1251f4dff1_b

There’s nothing like looking at hot bikes on a Friday, especially after a hellish work week. This Colnago Master Piu by Mobius Cycle is just what I needed to see today. I originally had a lot more planned for the site this week but my actual job burned up the majority of my brain fuel. The good news is, I’m finally taking a vacation after 18+ months without one; and have yet to make any specific plans the week off. Stay-cations are so 2013.

Anyway, enjoy a few more shots of this beauty below and have a wonderful Friday and and an even better weekend. Be sure to get out on the bike!

Colnago Super Pista Track Bike

 colnago super pista

I’m a strong proponent of Murphey’s Law. I mean, just over a week ago I was riding around town in a tee shirt; fully committed to spring and not looking back. Well, that was silly wasn’t it? Here we are with 3-5″ of snow on the ground again, and I’m just happy I was too lazy to pull the studs off my bike. If the weather can go wrong in Vermont, believe me, it will.

Anyway, what better way to warm things up than a fine looking track bike? A reader from Russia sent me some photos of his latest build and I gotta say, this is one clean looking Colnago Super Pista. Check out this full build list below as well as a few more photos. Thanks Andrey.

Colnago Super Pista

This bike – soon to be for sale at Eroica Cicli, was once owned by the Italian Cycling Federation. It needed some new paint, so they fully restored it with red Saronni, white panels and a fully chrome fork & rear triangle and built it up with a complete Campagnolo Record Pista group. See a few more below, and be sure to keep an eye out for the sale.

Colnago C59 Disc

colnago c59 disc

The new Colnago C59 Disc brake road bike has been stirring up quite the commotion lately. Many are skeptical of hydraulic disc brakes on a road bike, but I love seeing innovation like this. Sure, this is probably causing some old-school curmudgeons to roll over in their graves…but think of the benefits here. You’ll have a perfect excuse to spend way too much money on a new frame and set of wheels…not to mention brakes/shifters.

I can see the argument of the wheels being faster (read:lighter), due to less rotational mass from the lack of a braking surface…although something tells me you’re not going to notice the difference. What do you think of think of this whole concept? I’m still still unsure of the need to make a completely simple machine slightly more complex for minimal gains. I mean I barely used my brakes when I was racing…
