Woodrup Cycles: Maurice Woodrup Road Bike

842934_10200616175276862_587855045_o

I’m really feelin’ this 953 Maurice Woodrup road bike by Woodrup Cycles. The lugwork here is outstanding, plus the colors contrasting with the stainless stays / fork make for quite the visual. Kevin Sayles, a builder at Woodrup, sent me a couple shots of this road bike built for the grandson Anthony Woodrup – check ‘em out below.

Getting pumped for NAHBS…who’s going?

1987 Steve Potts Mountain Bike

PottsDropSide

PottsDropShift

A few days ago Austin Horse ‘grammed a photo of some old school indexed Deore shifters attached to a drop bar adapter, reminding me of this classic Steve Potts mountain bike I’d been meaning to share. Steve Potts, being one of three founding members of Wilderness Trail Bikes, had all the goodies from the WTB lineup. On this beautifully fillet-brazed frame you’ll find the Grease Guard hubs & BB, RM-2 drop bars, LD stem / cable hanger, Roller Cam brakes and a Type II fork. More shots below thanks to Mombat.org.

Ahearne Rohloff Commuter Bicycle

ahearne commuter bike

I’ve always enjoyed the work of Joseph Ahearne, especially when I see bicycles like this one. This commuter bike is dressed to the nines and capable of crushing your daily commute, and then some.

Built using stainless steel lugs, a stainless split plate fork crown, and a bi-laminate stem lug, this bike’s got beauty for days. It’s also ready for anything. A Rohloff will help you ascend even the largest hill in town while carrying a load up front on the chrome porteur rack. Also, check out the custom etched chain guard and striped fenders…I told you this bike’s got style. More photos here.

Baum GTH: Avon Black & O’So Sexy Orange

baum gth

D-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-damn! Ten points if you get that reference before clicking the link. This GTH by Baum Cycles is absolutely stunning. There will never be a “new black” as long as black is in existence; and you and I know that’ll be forever. Black is the new black forever. See another couple photos below and be sure to check out the Baum Flickr feed, you’ll be there for while I bet.  Also, be sure to check out this Cubano if you haven’t seen it already.

Rosko Cyclocross

photos: JP Bevins

This Rosko cyclocross bike belongs to King Kog ‘cross rider JP Bevins. JP is a photographer currently residing in Brooklyn and used to shoot for the esteemed Independent Fabrication. As you can see, he’s also shot these photos of his recently acquired King Kog team ‘cross bike, built by none other than Seth Rosko. The frame is a mix of Columbus Life and Zona tubing and is dressed with a slew of US-made components including a No Tubes wheel set, Chris King 17 headset, Thomson stem & post and Paragon seat collar.

The saddle and bar tape match (not to mention, the RD & housing), but do you have the fresh white kicks to complete the trifecta?

Stainless Steel Firefly Road Bike

firefly steel road bike (2)

This bike is absolutely stunning. What else would you expect from Shifter Dan of Shifter Bikes and Andy at Fyxomatosis? The stainless Firefly road frame is setup with a Campagnolo 11 speed drive train featuring Super Record shifters, polished Athena derailleurs and Cannondale Hollowgram Si SL Cranks. Those crank arms were, of course, polished too and outfitted with some Rotor Rings. I’m also really feeling the polished Deda stem and bars. The Enve rims and C-4 hubs are a recipe for speed and those EE Cycle Works brakes will help bring you back down to earth. The attention to detail is outstanding here. See a few more shots below and read more about the bike on Cycling Tips.

Burlington Burner by Fast Boy Cycles

fast boy cycles burlington burner

This gorgeous bicycle you’re looking at is known as the Burlington Burner. It was built by Ezra Caldwell of Fast Boy Cycles and belongs to a lucky guy named Jason (of whom I just found out is local). Could you think of a better bike to post after a 5-day dry spell? As soon as I saw Adam at Cycle EXIF‘s post, I knew it’d be the perfect bike to freshen up the feed. Not only are we based in Burlington, VT, the Burlington Burner is also one of my favorite burgers at The Rusty Scuffer (half price on Wednesdays); so this seemed more than fitting.

The bike is perfect for those aimless rides, you know, the ones where time seems to stop as you explore your surroundings. With a Sturmey Archer 2 speed kick-back coaster hub, some fat 29″ slicks, a White Industries drive train, and a top-notch saddle/cockpit setup, it’s ready for more than just those aimless rides. Check out a bunch more photos on the Fast Boy Cycles Flickr.

Sunrise Cycles: Bo99y’s Road Bike

sunrise cycles road bike (11)

sunrise cycles road bike (5)

This recent road bike by Sunrise Cycles is unreal. As soon as I laid eyes on the first photo, “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” began playing in my head. I don’t know if I personally would ride anything quite this loud, though you gotta give it up for the attention to detail. This also reminds me of Hunt’s collage bikes – be sure to check those out if you haven’t already.

Moots Vamoots Titanium Road Bike

Moots Vamoots (9)

Moots Vamoots (5)

I’ve always wanted a Moots. Until I have an extra 3k for a frame of my dreams, I’ll have to stick with posting about them. This right here is one tall Vamoots road bike. It was built in 1997 by Kent Erikson and is 100% titanium and features a Moots post and stem, a Campagnolo Chorus 9-speed grouppo, and some Mavic Ksyrium SLs. Say what you will about those IRD bars; this guy’s clearly got his fit dialed. See some more of this beauty below.

map bicycles randonneur (5)

Mitch Pryor, builder and owner of MAP Bicycles builds some of the most beautiful bicycles and this 700c randonneur is no exception. A lovely build with some fine components, to boot. The seat cluster and custom MAP tail light is one of my favorite details here; so very clean.

Ahearne Cycles Stainless Road Bike

stainless steel road bike by ahearne cycles (7)

stainless steel road bike by ahearne cycles (11)

This beautiful stainless steel road bike by Ahearne Cycles belongs to a very lucky man named Emre. The geometry is slightly more relaxed than a traditional race bike and outfitted for longer rides with a custom rear rack and fenders. The rear rack is one of my many favorite details of this bike, it will also soon be hanging some custom panniers by Philosophy Bags. Another neat detail is the Pacenti Artisan lug set Joseph used for the build. These lugs are no longer being produced so he’s been holding out for the perfect bike to use them on, and what a beauty they’ve helped construct. I can only imagine how long this thing took to polish…

More shots below as always. See more bicycles from Ahearne here.
