I’ve never played bike polo before; but having watched all our buddies here in Burlington play many times, I gotta say it’s definitely on my to-do list. If you haven’t heard by now, the current waterfront polo rink is being paved over as part of the Moran Plant Redevelopment some of that project being a bigger, better, concrete skate park. As a lifelong skateboarder, I cannot wait for this to happen but I want to make sure everyone has a place to place polo too. The crew’s gotten really big over the years! They’ve traveled to tournaments and even hosted two of their own (thanks Liam) – bringing many new faces to Vermont for the weekend.
If you’re available tonight at 6 PM, there’s a community vote on where to relocate the rink with the two options being Oakledge or Leddy park. See the details here on Facebook. I’m going to try to make it, but if not my votes for Oakledge.
In the spirit of polo, check out some shots of this gorgeous Horse Cycles Polo Bike below.
