Whenever I see anything Cardiel-related, I stop all that I’m doing and dive in. You’ve seen how hyped I get in the past over John Cardiel content, so when I caught the recent Streets of Chrome edit I put it on repeat and then realized how much I miss going mountain biking.
Give this a watch, get inspired and once you’re done, get out there and shred.
Just came across this old post from Ty over at The Footdown – Pro Skateboarders Who Ride Fixed Gear Bikes. Talk about a long list!
This was done in 2010, so how many more do you think there are now? If you’ve got any that haven’t been mentioned on this list, leave a comment below or get @ me on Twitter – @klei_ber or @culturecycles. Pictured above is the one and only, John Cardiel; please take a minute to hail the great.
The good folks at Chrome recently came together with Japanese crew T19 and the legend John Cardiel to create this limited edition ORP bag. I’m loving this video, and you know I’m hyped anytime Cardiel’s involved. Make sure to check the video out and then head over to Chrome and have a look at the ORP! I’d love to get my hands on one…
Man oh man…this is what I’m talking about! Two of my favorite skateboarders come together here as Arto Saari shoots photos of John Cardiel. If you know anything about skateboarding, you’ll know that these two, especially Cardiel, are legends within the ‘”sport”; so seeing them involved with bicycles just gets really gets me more hyped. I remember one of my first pairs of skate shoes as a kid being a Vans Cardiels and since then I’ve been a huge fan.
Don’t miss this video below as well as a bonus shot of a frontside slash. Also, repeat after me: “All Hail Cardiel”. Thanks to The Footdown for the tip.
It’s so rad to see all the support for John Cardiel and the collaborations he’s been doing with Chrome. Check out the recent video from the Cardiel & Chrome Chicago Launch Party – sure looks like a good time.
Cardiel is a beast. He recently decided to ride a cool century from Sacramento to Chico to check out the making of the Fortnight bags he has with Chrome.
“On a summer day, Chrome Familia member John Cardiel and a couple of friends rode from his home in Sacramento 100 miles north to the Chrome Bag factory in Chico, CA. The intent was to see his new Fortnight travel bag being made. It just so happened that the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is two blocks away from the Chrome bags factory. Here is what ensued.”
“The Cardiel Attack System is a three bag travel system designed in collaboration with skateboard legend and track bike savant John Cardiel. Made for John’s simple, resourceful, creative and self-sufficient travel style, the system was created with John’s demanding attention to detail and commitment to living on his bike. The system includes the Cardiel Fortnight, the Cardiel ORP and the Cardiel Shank.”
Pretty excited to see John Cardiel has his own line with Chrome Bags now. These things look great and would be perfect for day-to-day use and light travel. The line consists of a three bag combo, known as the Cardiel Attack System: The Orp, Shank and Fortnight.
