45NRTH, is a new brand to the cycling world, owned by QBP and focused completely on cold weather & winter cycling. See what’s up their sleeves at Frostbike – rumor has it they’re gonna make a studded fat bike tire.

Here’s the next accessory you need to pick up for your commuter bike, the Road Popper – a bottle opener that clasps onto the rails of your saddle. A nice, discretely-mounted means to “pop bottles” on the go, just not too many.

As a big fan of Cadence, I’m always excited to see some new threads available from them. They just released a Bamboo Henley Shirt in couple styles now available online – check it out! Looks to be a great base layer, plus it’s moisture wicking. Been wearing my Eleven hoody on the daily, maybe it’s time for a tee?

Fat bikes have been gaining a lot of popularity over the last year and are starting to be seen as more than just a snow or sand bike. These fat tire’d beasts can handle mostly anything you throw at them, and then some. Salsa just recently received a shipment of prototype full suspension fat bike frames that they’ll be testing out in the coming weeks.
No promises yet, but hopefully these go into production! Talk about a plush ride…

The Crank Brothers M-17 has been my trusty, do it all (cover-all) multi-tool for nearly a year now and I couldn’t be happier with it – no I didn’t get it for free (but I was a shop employee at the time), but it’s saved my ass once or twice over the past year and has the potential to perform most any trail/roadside operation your bike should need. After breaking my chain nearly 25 miles into a 50-mile midnight moonlight ride last summer, I knew I needed a compact chain tool to go along with the rest of the stuff I carry. The M17 was the answer.
This piece features all the convenient allen key’s you’d want (even a 8mm), a torx, phillips, flat head, spoke wrenches, and chain tool. I love the thing. Seriously, it flies everywhere with me. (Now you know where to put that Christmas money). Go pick one up at your local shop or hit up the CB website for some more info.

Are you one of those folks who likes to ride around with a flask? With the temperatures dropping day by day, this would make a great gift for your bourbon-loving, winter-riding cyclist! Head over to Ahearne Cycles to read up on the details and how to get your custom engraved flask going.

Wouldn’t this be great? Imagine being able to spin for a few hours every day while simultaneously being a productive employee. You’d go home feeling better, probably be in a better mood all day long, and never leave the office with desk-chair legs again!
First there was the treadmill desk, now there is a desk built specifically for cyclists. The traditional desk and chair combination is giving way to modern alternatives that enable you to not only get some exercise while you work, but do what you love while you do what you need to pay the bills.
The Kickstand cycling desk enables you to be productive at work while spinning for hours rather than just sitting idle and bored in your cubicle. The company provides the purpose built desk and you provide the bike and trainer.

Peter Wadsworth sent this one my way and I gotta say, for $60 bones this thing looks like it’ll get the job done – plus it’s pretty beefy.
Check out more on Better Living Through Design and if you’re into it, grab one here.
Thanks for sharing Peter!

A reader named Joe sent this my way and I’m really happy he did as I’d never seen anything quite like it. Here we have the Pinion P1.18, an 18 – speed bottom-bracket-mounted gear box for your mountain bike designed in Germany by a couple of former Porsche engineers. Throughout those 18 gears, the Pinion gives you an overall gear ratio of 636% – that’s bigger than any available derailleur ratio or internal hub. I always thought the Rohloff was bad ass, but with the Pinion, the weight of the gear box is distributed throughout the BB area providing a better balance and handling I’d imagine. Got your interest now? Read up more here.
See some coverage from EuroBike (plus photos of the internals) at Pink Bike.
Thanks Joe!

To celebrate the culture and lifestyle you find in every city, Chrome is launching their City Series of bags – starting with a London Transport – herringbone tweed style! Check out the video and a and read up on the details below!
“City Series, launching with a London tribute. Chrome’s City Series uses fan favorites, Citizen and Yalta, to reinterpret the unique materials and graphic treatments that define the culture and lifestyle of each city.
Kicking it off London styles, both bags are recreated in double-coated technical herringbone tweed and nubuck leather, complete with Victorian-inspired print liner by Brooklyn-based Flavor Paper (look closely for a taste of all things ale, punk, bike, and royalty).”
