Even though skating is one of the main reasons I’m in Shanghai, I’m still finding time to get on the bike everyday. Whether it’s simply commuting and running errands or a 50-mile weekend exploration mission, I’m really getting to know this city thanks to my bike. While the riding here isn’t ideal, there are still parts of the city where I can get into a rhythm and mash away for a bit. I cherish these zones. You’ll also find many side streets and alleyways, prime for wandering at a slightly-faster-than-walking pace and taking in the city’s rich culture. This past Sunday was the perfect day to wander. John and I cruised around Old Town and hunted spots all afternoon yesterday.
