Sunrise Cycles: Bo99y’s Road Bike

This recent road bike by Sunrise Cycles is unreal. As soon as I laid eyes on the first photo, “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” began playing in my head. I don’t know if I personally would ride anything quite this loud, though you gotta give it up for the attention to detail. This also reminds me of Hunt’s collage bikes – be sure to check those out if you haven’t already.

Signal Cycles Raty Ning’s City Bike

Signal Cycles city bike (3)

This is surely a CashMoney certified city bike. There sure are some lovely details on this Raty Ning’s Signal Cycles custom commuter bike; especially the seat tube detail. This bike’s been built up with a 2×10 drivetrain with Dura Ace downtube shifters, a custom rear rack for a rolltop bag, Schmidt Edelux light, and topped off with cherry paint by Spectrum Powderworks.

Get into it below.

Signal Cycles Ashley Mixte

signal cycles ashley mixte

I love the Signal Cycles Ashley: A classically-inspired mixte with modern, practical components and well-thought-out additions such as custom porteur and rear racks, internally routed cables, and a stabilizer spring to help with heavy loads. This bike’s built for the long (or short) haul, at your command for everyday use.

It’s setup with a Shimano Alfine 11 speed & dynamo hub, XTR Hydraulic Brakes, Nitto cockpit, matching silver Chris King Stem, a subtly-tucked Light On! Dynamo Light, and Paul Cranks – and those are just a few of the highlights. See all the fine details and beauty below.

I love seeing photos like this, getting a glimpse of others workspaces is always inspiring. I came across this photo of Signal Cycles workshop and it reminded me of the Flickr group “Bike Hovels” a reader mentioned when I shared a photo of our workshop. Got a shop, home space, or “hovel” you’d like to share? Just shoot us an email!

Signal Cycles: Kim’s Road Bike

Signal Cycles: Kim’s Road Bike

Signal Cycles Road Bike

You can always count on Signal Cycles for a beautiful bicycle (also for some lovely tunes while surfing their site). Here’s their recently completed, hand build, lugged steel road bike for Kim. It’s great seeing more and more people working with custom frame builders! My next bike will no doubt be hand built in the USA. See some more of Kim’s new ride below.

Signal Cycles: Custom Stem

Signal Cycles Custom Stem

Stems are one of my favorite components on the bicycle. From production to custom, there are so many ways to create a simple-functioning piece; specific to its use too. That’s why seeing framebuilder’s own take on such components is always great. Here’s a custom stem from Portland’s own, Signal Cycles.

Signal Cycles: Oregon Manifest Video

Hearing about The Oregon Manifest from Hubert really makes me want to take a trip out there next year. Seeing photos of the bikes over the past two years already had me convinced, but have a look at this short video from Signal Cycles. I bet that ride was a blast.
