  • Flying with a Bicycle

If anyone knows how to travel with a bike, it’s Mr. Prolly. He recently compiled a pretty informative post on his tried and true method of flying with a bicycle and I gotta agree with him here: the cardboard box is your friend. While I think the Chinatown suitcase method is a close runner up, you can’t beat a nearly free (just make sure to buy your local shop some beer) cardboard box and some packing tape. It’ll break down for easy storage wherever you’re staying, and most towns will also have a shop where you can probably find another if need be. The comments section here is also great and filled with some valuable insights. John probably has the best method, still.

  • Off to Seattle

    Photo Jun 09, 6 04 16 AM

Currently I’m sitting in the Burlington airport, waiting on my delayed flight out to Chicago with a final destination of Seattle. The flight was supposed to depart at 6am and it’s currently 6:14. For some reason, the last three or four times I’ve flown out of Burlington my flights have all had decent delays (so I’ve learned to book connections with a bit of a layover). Anyway, I’ll be out in Seattle on business for my day job but definitely plan on checking out some shops and doing a bit of skating before my conference starts on Tuesday. I also have plans to eat at the Space Needle. Anyone have any suggestions of people, places or things to check out? Shoot me an email or get at me on Twitter: and @CultureCycles or @klei_ber. I’ve also got a grip of stickers on me if anyone’s looking for a few freebies. While on the subject of traveling, I’ll also be out in SF for the last week of this month with my buddy Josh – again, feel free to hit me up!

  • Evoc: Travel Bag

    Dirtrag magazine evoc travel bag

Dirt Rag has a post on some new gear by Evoc, a German company that produces some fine looking and well-designed bags. This is their Bike Travel Bag, intended to fit most any bike by only removing the pedals, bars and wheels. I hate packing and always put it off ’til the last minute and if you do too, I’d have a look at this bag by Evoc.
